La ricerca ha evidenziato come in generale gli italiani attribuiscono al tema delle energia rinnovabili grande importanza e valore, non solo in termini economici.

Le due opzioni di recupero – ciclabile e ferroviario (o tramviario) – non sono fra loro avverse, in alternativa e in competizione, con reciproca esclusione. Bici e treno (o tram o metrò) al contrario si chiamano a vicenda, dialogano, si armonizzano e si potenziano: si veda il caso esemplare della Merano-Malles in val Venosta, o della Bergamo-Albino".
